Kayekids Red and
Apricot Poodles was born in 1991 with a beautiful apricot Standard
girl followed by a lovely red Standard girl. These two became
the foundation of our Standard Poodle breeding program. We had
our last Standard litter in 2007.
In 2007, we transitioned from Standards to Miniature Poodles. We
have been breeding Miniatures ever since. Our foundation
Miniature stock was selected with an eye to their pedigrees so we
wouldn't be doubling-up any potential genetic carriers found in those
pedigrees. We were extremely pleased when the Better Bred
program came online to use as a tool to ensure increased genetic
diversity in the litters we planned on breeding.
We are committed to purposefully breeding healthy, intelligent as well
as beautiful red and apricot Miniature Poodles. All our breeding
dogs have passed all the testing requirements of the Poodle Club of
America as well as tests not yet recognized by the Club.
Soundness and temperament are just as important to us as good health
and correct structure.
Our dogs live with us, sleep with us and share our lives.
Puppies are born and hand raised in our home. They have their
own special bedroom. They are handled daily from birth and
throughout their young lives they are introduced to small stressors
and exercises that help their cognitive abilities grow. Above
all, they are given lots of love and attention.
All puppies are sold on AKC Limited registrations on on private treaty
show contracts. We do not ship.
